The quote is by Confucius, which is actually somewhat ironic, considering that Confucius was against body modification. (However, since this was my 8th tattoo, not my first, I figured it was already too late to heed that belief of his.) In Japan, cherry blossoms represent the transience of life, and I thought they were an excellent complement to the quote, which also speaks to life being fluid. The singular blue flower (not normally seen in cherry blossoms) represents me and my imperfect uniqueness. |
