I started getting tattoos:
I got my first tattoo partly to prove to myself that I could overcome my fear of it, partly because it is something that not everybody has, and partly to make my enjoyment of images and ideas permanent so that I can always take them with me... so of course, I gotta get more ink! ;)
I started getting piercings:
This one was definitely because I love the idea of accessorizing in a not-so-ordinary way, and I have an intense fear of needles--so to be able to overcome that fear to achieve something I wanted became very important to me. |
