I started getting tattoos:
For a multitude of reasons: a) it's an identifying mark that is unique to me and me alone. Regardless of what happens to me in this life, I've got some part of me that is custom to me. b) It's like wearing a sign, telling people something about you they wouldn't know by passing you quickly on the street or even talking to you casually. They are conversation pieces designed to convey some part of one's personality.
