I started getting tattoos:
I'd always wanted one, and for my 19th birthday, decided to finally go for it. For me, they're the ultimate form of self-expression.
I started getting piercings:
Well, not counting my ears -- which were first pierced at age four, and which I continued to pierce through my teens (I now have five holes in one ear, three in the other) -- I got my nose pierced at fourteen.
I got my nose done simply because I wanted it. I actually had hopedto get it pierced at age 13, but my mom and I made a deal: if I waited a year, and still really wanted to get it done, she'd take me, herself, on her dime, to a place that met her approval. |
