i was hoping an artist could answer this for me. i want to get another tattoo, but have a job that involves me being in a swimming pool two times a week.

does anyone know if the chlorine exposure would affect the tattoo at all?
would you recommend me waiting until i leave the job (several months in the future, and i'd prefer not to wait if i didn't need to)?

thanks

I'm no artist, but I am a swimmer that has TONS of tats. You need to be completely out of the water for at LEAST a week after you get the tattoo. In that regard, yes the water will effect it. I think the thing that really gets to your tats when you have a job in a pool is the sun. I always make sure to apply waterproof sunscreen to all my tats before workout every day. I have only had mine for a year, but nothing so far has changed.

or you can add bleach, it cancels the bad effect of the chlorine...
