It's another good reason to find an alternative party platform you identify with and support them as best you can. |
That's just stupid if by some miracle a 3rd party ever got elected that 3rd party would blame the other party's and the other party's would blame the 3rd party. there has never been a successful 3rd party and never will. what good does it do to vote for someone that gets 2% of the vote? does it make you feel like you accomplished something? Well you didn't. _________________

Well since Obama is elected I will wait until he does something stupid (something I don't like) to criticize him.He is the president and deserves the respect that that office holds. I hope I can be Bigger than all you Bush bashers. Which most bash Bush without having a clue on what their talking about. Don't get me wrong there is stuff I don't agree with Bush about but I don't think he is some bumbling idiot. When you have cameras rolling on you 24/7 and a very bias press you are going to have a lot of clips. _________________

You are, of course, completely entitled to your opinion.
However, consider this:
| Quote: | By 1860 the two-party system had fallen apart. The election featured four candidates, including the breakaway Southern Democratic Party, which nominated Vice President John C. Breckenridge as its candidate, and the Constitutional Union Party, which nominated John Bell. Republican Abraham Lincoln did not appear on the ballot in any of the 11 states that seceded after the election to form the Confederacy. Breckenridge, the southern pro-slavery candidate, carried most of the slave states, but had little support in the North outside of Pennsylvania. Bell and the Constitutional Union party, neutral on the slavery issue, drew most of their support from the southern former Whigs that had voted for Fillmore four years before. Stephen Douglas, the northern Democratic candidate, had the broadest support geographically but lost most of the Democratic votes in the South to Breckenridge.
Lincoln won the election with 39.8% of the overall popular vote but 180 electoral votes due to his votes being concentrated in the northern free states. Douglas finished second in the popular vote with 29.5%, but, with his votes scattered all over the country, carried only Missouri and New Jersey and won 12 electoral votes. Breckenridge, the quasi-"third party" candidate of southern Democrats, got 18.2% but won 72 electoral votes due to most of his votes being concentrated in the South. Bell, a true "third party" candidate, finished last in the popular vote with 12.6% but carried Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee to win 39 electoral votes, due to the Democratic vote in those states being split between Douglas and Breckenridge.
After this election, the two-party system coalesced around the Democratic and Republican parties. |
When American had a choice of 4 different candidates they got Abraham Lincoln.
Based on your theory, we'd only have a choice of Bush/Gore, Bush/Kerry, and Obama/McCain.
I like the idea of being able to chose from a larger cesspool than the one the Republicrat's own. |

Those were your only choices. if you voted for someone else it was totally a masturbatory act on your part. The only thing that it did was to make you feel good. _________________

So you're suggesting that even though I don't like or support one of the two major party candidates, that I should make it appear that I support one of them by voting for one of them.
That just sounds completely wrong on so many levels. |

And you you still didn't answer the question. Seriously, how awesome are you doing financially under Bush? And lets say in the off chance you decide to blame Clinton's administration for how things are now financially in 4-8 years are you going to blame Bush or Obama? I'm getting ahead of myself here but I'm just interested to see. |
I have to comment on this. If you are the type of citizen that thinks the president affects the economy in an immediate fashion, under Bush we've seen the biggest economy boom in our nation's history. However it's because of Clinton's administration that it happened. On the flip side it's also because of Clinton's administration that we have the current recession because the bubble popped. They pushed too hard and too fast.
It takes 8 to 10 years for a president's policies to come to full realization. So in actuality nobody can know yet how people are doing financially under Bush as his policies have not come into full effect.
So yes, I'm going to have to wait 8-10 years to see how we are doing under Bush, if it's shitty I'll blame it on him. _________________ A key that works with many locks is a MASTER KEY.

Let's just make it harder for him by throwing another damn language at him! Pisses me off... |
This is actually the best time in your son's life for other languages to be "thrown at him". |
