firstly remember that the malls use a gun, not only is it unsanitary and unautoclaveable but it uses a dull stud punched theough your ear. A piercing shop that does body piercing use needles that are autoclaved and jewelry that are autoclaved are usually inspected by the health department and are safer. They can also start you out at 8 or 10 gauge, they use an 8 or 10 gauge needle and jewelry. It may cost more but I believe your health is worth the cash. _________________ www.needlemasters.com |

Don't go to the mall and DON'T use one of those piercing guns. Go to a shop where they will do it right. My wife is still experiencing problems from her mall job a year ago. _________________ A key that works with many locks is a MASTER KEY.

I got my lobes pierced 3 times each at piercing pagoda in the mall. Everything that goes near your ear is new and thrown out each time. Even for multiple piercings on the same person. I would never get cartledge pierced there but just lobes is fine. They did not just use a stud either. It’s a stud with a sharp needle end. That was the one near me. The one near you might be different. If they use a gun like this don’t get your ears pierced.

They used a disposable Studex that looked sort of like this. If they dont, find a good tattoo place that does piercings.

And they have alot of options for starter earings. |

I just have a few questions,
who autoclaved your starter jewelry before it was inserted?
how was the piercing gun sterilized before it was used?
You know its not sterile when manufactured, and it definetly cannot not be cleaned.
No matter how you present it unsterile is unsterile. Ya might as well heat a needle with a lighter and jab it through your ear into a potato, it would be cleaner. Hep is at epidemic proportions in the US because of ignorant people working in piercing pagodas, it stays dormant in your system for up to 12 years, been checked lately? _________________ www.needlemasters.com |

They had an autoclave. They used a studex not a gun. I did not ask what they used to sterilize but I saw them do it. |

just for your edification, in Ohio where I am the piercing pogadas are run by the department of cosmotology, and are not health inspected and do not use autoclaves, what you saw was probably a sonic for cleaning jewelry. but back to my point if i had a studex or piercing gun in my studio the health departtment would pull my liscense. This is sad but true that women and small children are exposed to blood boune pathogen in these mall settings and no one cares what comes of it as long as they look pretty. According to the american red cross the leading cause of hep C in women today is Piercings done by untrained people in malls. according to thier information one in six women in the us has or is a carrier of hep C its an epidemic. _________________ www.needlemasters.com |
