i dont know if there is a technical term for them but my artist uses "air guns" they look more like a pen and they shoot air onto the tattoo while it is being done. i have to say my last tattoo was the best experience ive had.

i think the air really helps. cools the tattoo off and feels good.

anyone else use them?

What the hell? Post links or something.

The last time I checked, firing air into your skin at high pressure could cause death. Maybe it was an air pneumatic gun? But I've never heard of one before.

Those crappy fake tattoo machines have been around for a long time. They are driven by compressed air. Ask your artist how he contains all the microspatter from being blown all over his work area (and face) with that air that's getting shot out.
OOOOOPSIE!

Can you imagine hooking one of those to a loud, powerful air compressor and running it in your studio?

haha, "yeah, this is the NEW way of getting inked.. just try and drown out the noise."

Every time the needles hit the skin, tiny particles of blood, etc. spatter, and become airbourne. It doesn't take much to blow it around. I have seen them, and they would be far more than enough to do it. Most thinking tattooists won't even use a spray bottle due to the same thing.
