I just got my lip pierced on saturday and have work on wednesday. my boss told me i can't have it so i was thinking of switching out the piercing for a clear one he won't notice, but i know it is bad to change it out before it is completely healed. does anyone have any advice on how i can do it without fucking up my lip?

I would follow your piercer's advice. Did you get your lip pierced knowing that your boss wouldn't approve??

Your boss will notice a clear piercing as well...don't kid yourself. Take the piercing out and let it heal back up. Wait until you have a job that will allow piercings....or start looking for a new job now.

I agree with rufus. By switching the jewelery you raise the risk of infection and rejection. Take it out, let it heal, eat the 50bucks you paid for it and dont be a dumbass with it in the future.

you guys are missing the point. i know it's a bad idea to do this and i probably should just take it out, but i want to atleast try to make it work.

I think you are the one missing the point. You asked if there was a way to change it without fucking it up. The answer is no.

You should have found out if your job would allow it BEFORE you got the piercing. You didn't, so your options are to let it close or find a new job, unless you want to risk some serious problems with your lip.

Me personally, I would fire your ass if you tried to do something stupid like put in a clear piercing to deceive me.

my boss already told me it would be ok to put a clear one in so don't worry about me getting fired. what about if i gave it a week and a half before i switched it out. would that be ok?

You seem to be missing the point. So let me break it down for you.

1. You got pierced with (assuming) 316L SS.
2. You could have been pierced with glass
3. You didn't think ahead
4. Now you want an easy way to get from fuck up 1 to fuck up 2.
5. You are asking strangers on the internet the CORRECT way to do so.
6. There is no good way to go from 1 - 2 without letting it fully heal.
7. You are going to switch it anyways
8. You are not going to be smart enough to tell your piercer that either he do it or you will.
8a. Your piercer should tell you to fuck yourself and to take it out and let it heal
8b Your piercer will probably change it for you if you ask and admit to being a dumbass up front.

Just know that you risk put yourself at a higher risk of infection by switching it out.
