Nice, but it looks like it hurt. Where did you get it?

Hahahaha on the leg of course! (Sorry could not help myself!)

Who is the artist? I'm not a huge fan of biomech, but I like that its bike-ish.

Thanks all Smile

Artist is a UK guy, Jim Gambell from Ritual Art Tattoo.
I would post a link to his portfolio but there's little point as it's so far out of date!

Its alright, but you're saying 8 total sessions? Like how many hours total? That seems rediculous for that tattoo....

Hard to say really, sessions used to start at 11:00am but it was usually nearly an Hour to get set up and to start and then finish at anywhere between 7 and 9 pm.
There was a bit of time out for chatting and talking to new clients too, so probably in the region of 50 Hours or so

12am to 7pm is 7 hours, and seven sessions makes out 49 hours, as you said... So with a minimal charge of 100$ a hour, that's 4900 bucks for this.

50 hours for the tattoo in the picture above? Like 3000 minutes? 2 consecutive days of tattooing? To tattoo the tattoo in the above pic.. Surely you jest.

No, no joke. I take it you all think it took a bit long? wink

There is a lot of detail in there that doesn't come out so well in the picture but it was slow going.
It cost me £2800.00 in the end (£400.00/day) but it's difficult when you're going for your first tattoo to know what's reasonable.
I researched the artist, liked his biomech work and didn't want to shop just based on price so went with it.

50 hours for just a half calf piece. Wow. I was told by an artist that he could do my back to thighs in 40.

Ultimately, that is the right approach - as long as you can afford it.

On the other hand, you will not likely find a slower artist than that.
