|
|
Greeting everyone, I am about to get my first tattoo in about a month! I have a rare birthmark under my waist that is fairly big called Beckers Nevus...Its a dark tan color (I'm white) and it extends from my hip to just above my knee cap.
I plan on getting a koi tattoo because the stiletto of the birthmark is perfect for it. I am nervous how much itll hurt(mostly muscle on my thigh) along with the birthmark being extra sensitive...anyone ever experience a tattoo over such a birthmark? My dermatologist said it should be fine to get inked, though I dont take her word 100%..
I would like to post pics of the birthmark to give ya guys a idea of what I'm working with(not sure if half my cheek would get my account deleted, lol). I'm not looking to cover it up, but to celebrate it. Anyways, I'm stoked to get my first tatt, and would love to hear suggestions from ya guys! |

you mean silhouette i assume... is it raised at all? and thigh tattoos hurt like a biotch. but the pain is temporary and the tattoo is forever. unless its raised, i would get something you want, rather than just getting something that tends to be the same shape as your birthmark. get something you REALLY want because as i stated before, its forever. alot of things could be in that shape. _________________

Yes I meant silhouette haha. Its not really raised, but has texture. Thats nice to hear about the pain, but its worth it! I was thinking of having just one large koi...I would like to "celebrate" my birthmark rather than cover it all up(so in the future I can have it checked for skin cancer)...any ideas welcomed! I was thinking of having the tail end be towards my hip with the head of the koi spiraling down, right above my knee.

no one on here will really like KOI, but if you feel it, it is a good way to cover that thing _________________ It puts the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again |

| I could see a nice hanya mask on he front side. I may be wrong but it could be better than a koi. |

i mean you could do sooooo many things with this area. literally anything you could think of could work here because it already has a nice curved flow to it. _________________

Thanks for the suggestions, I thought a koi would fit well in its shape...I was originally looking to get a dragon...I checked out a few hanya mask tattoos, but thats just not me.
Fe- Yeah I thought the koi would be perfect for the shape, along with not covering up the birthmark all that much...an outline wont include all of the birthmark, so I was thinking of getting a design like below filled in around the outline...what other designs do you think would go well with the shape? I really do like the pacific tribal artwork, though that would probably mean covering up much of the bm.
-was thinking of getting something like this around the outline

| I think some traditional Japanese stuff would be awesome there. Koi, a dragon, samurai...go crazy. Lots of detail would help break up the texture and uneven skin tone. |
