I was wondering if anyone has a picture of their old tattoos or has one of someone else. I want to see how faded and muddy they get after 10 or 20 years.

remember there is going to be a HUGE variance of how tattoos will look in 20yrs because some people dont take the proper precautions as others. some might not moisturize their tattoos as often as they should, some people dont take care of their skin like others, some people are in the sun more, some people dont use sun screen, etc.

If you are concerned about the ageing then tattoos are not for you.

yep. my 15 year old tattoo is showing almost no fading or blurring. Just depends on how well you treat it.

I think this is a legitimate question.
The answer is that it depends on where you get it, how it heals, how your skin ages in general, and the amount of sunshine it sees.
I think it also depends on the quality of tattoo you get from the beginning. A shitty tattoo will just look shittier with time. I am noticing that line work is more important than I thought when I was 21.
Bottom line is find a good artist, follow his/her aftercare instructions, and be careful of the sun.

I know tattoos fade and age but mostly i wated to know if a black and grey tattoo with lots of detail would become a giant blur of ink when you get older. I do see alot of sun so i should probably lean towards getting my inner bicep and ribs done because of less exposure.

Have you ever noticed how some people look 15 years younger than they really are and vise versa?
