|
|
Hey all i'm close to finishing my 3/4 sleeve and this is my 2nd tattoo. 1st one was fairly small and did it when i was 19 on my calf so i never really see it. Now for my 2nd one i decided to go for a 3/4 sleeve. I'm stationed in Japan and will be leaving here soon so i decided to get it done by a Japanese artist. I've wanted it and thought about it for a long time and finally gave in and decided it to before i leave here. Anyway, I did 4 sessions so far. 1st 3 hours(outline),4, another 4 and last one was 6. On the last session is when he started coloring and after we were done and i got home and really started to look at it the color seems like too much. It's so freaking bright and sticks out a lot. And we still gotta color the flowers. Now i'm thinking of doing them black and grey or is just me not used to the color? SO i guess where i'm going with this is, i would like to know am i freaking out for no reason and just need to give it some time to get use to color. Also those who have color tattoo's did it take you time to get used to the color?
Thanks in advance! |

| strictly a personal preference question . . . but it's going to be pretty useless offering an opinion on this without PICTURES! |

| You could've saved the book report, posted a pic, and a sentence man. The color will dull significantly when healed but you should know that. Yeah you will get used to it. Now lets see it! |

i dont see why you would be complaining, the colors are very nice. i like the yellow hints a lot. if i were you i would color the flowers too. this is coming from a guy who has both sleeves b/g (though my whole back piece and one leg sleeve is full color).
who is the artist and did your artist do hand poke or machine? tebori usually keeps the color more vibrant than machine. |

| Yeah, I'm thinking that coloring in the flowers will better balance the whole piece, too. |

| Let the artist do his thing. Thats a nice Jap piece. You have plenty of B & G with the waves/windabars. Def color the flowers. Nice work |

| Have a koi sleeve with two koi and some flowers. Thats what I love about Japanese is its very heavy in black and then super bright colors. The brightness will fade though. An you'll get used to it. I don't even notice my own tattoos anymore hardly then I see a pic of my self and go holy fuck. Did the artist do any tebori? |

+1
Looks great, will look even better with the flowers colored in. It'll fade a bit, and you'll get used to it. |

| thanks for the input everyone you know the more i look at it the more i like it. I will have him him do the flower in the middle in dark blue with something bright on the inside of it and the other 2 i will let him decide. As far as artist, his name is Horikazu. He has his own studio at home and his wife also does tattoos. He used machine not sure if he does tebori. Also his english is pretty bad and he's been tattooing for 12 years. This is his site http://www.tvs12.jp/~tattoo/Artists.html but he doesn't update too often as far as i understood. |
