I'm designing a new tattoo, a relatively simple one, based around a triskelion, which is a celtic and oriental symbol for power in motion and rebirth. Because of the fact that I'm a recovering drug addict, this holds much meaning to me, but while researching triskelions, I found out that some neo-nazi groups had adopted a, rather drastic, variation of the symbol. The version I'm going to use doesnt look anything like the nazi one, I was just wondering if it was a widely known hate symbol, or whether people would interpret it that way, because even though its only important to me that I like the tattoo, I dont want to send the wrong message or advocate those groups in any way. The closest thing online I can find to my design is this http://luckyfishart.com/powerwheel.html and I was just wondering if people could tell me whether they find it offensive, would consider it a hate symbol, or recognize it as one even though thats not what its intended for. | My grandmother was sexually taken advantaged of by a man with almost that exact same tatoo, except coloring and shading. Right now that man has become a "prag" in grant penitiary and i think thats what anybody who gets that tatoo should and will become. I live in Baraboo, Wi and if ever saw someone with that tatoo words could not describe the differnt forms of pain and torture they would endure from me. You make me sick in every cell of my body. |

There are groups of murderers who use the cross as their symbol. Do you get upset every time you see a cross? What if the guy who raped her had a Tazmanian devil with a beer glass? Would you seek revenge on everyone who had one? If so, I can point you in the direction of the first 10,000 people you'll be confronting.
That symbol predates those groups by THOUSANDS of years. The swastika was around THOUSANDS of years before Hitler. For someone to judge a person for wearing either symbol without understanding that individual's reasoning is just as sick as the groups that bastardized the symbol in the first place.
If you want it, get it. If you worry yourself over what every moron will think about it, there isn't anything you will be able to get. Some asshole will have a problem with WHATEVER you get. |
