i do understand that the world is not black and white and that it is grey but just because something is permitted my law doesnt make it right... and by this i mean that just because it is legal for a 14 year old to get a tattoo with parental consent doesnt mean it should be allowed. Not every one is at the same maturity rate at this point in time. Same as there are kids out there who get their license who have no business driving on a road, you know what i mean??
monkeyman, that is exactly what i am saying, let them be kids... you dont get to be a kid forever and the real world is going to knock alot of these kids right back on their ass when they find out that their boss doesnt hive a flying hoot about what they want or any excuse that they can possibly come up with, they learn that theycan get away with tons of crap with their parents and assume that they can do the same later on, and it just wont happen...
and kate i think he was refurring to my post above talking about parents..... and what not, i think i understood you, but let me know if i didnt... _________________ Half the world is composed of people who have something to say and can't; and the other half who have nothing to say and keep on saying it -Robert Frost-

My children have curfews chores, and responsibilities. They are on the honor roll. They still hug me in public. They are good kids. They get mad and tell me I am uncool, not fair etc. I say, "so? I've got friends my own age, you'll get over it". They do. My son has an earring he had to get straight A's and pay for, after a year of waiting. I wouldn't sign for a tattoo, but it happens. Kids get tattooed. Right or wrong it happens Ever see a grown man cry because even if he signs a paper you can't touch his 12 year old daughter that some local crack dealer tattooed "hottie" on?
By saying they'll do it anyway. I wasn't saying "tattoo the masses"
I also don't think that 14 year old should have sex, but I do think there has to be a resource there if for nothing more than a way to fix a problem that has already happened.. (example given in my post regarding TN policy) |

Discipline, discipline, discipline...
If your 14 year old kid comes home with a tattoo you beat them down like a dog...and then keep them in the house for a few weeks... If you don't believe in hitting your kids (this is WHY they didn’t listen to you to begin with) then restrict them to the house for a month.
After they come home with the new tattoo you take them for there first of SEVERAL appointments for tattoo removal... After 2 seconds of this and they will NEVER disobey you again. _________________

| I was speaking "in general". Seems we are all on the same page. I would never infere that someone I don't know is a bad parent and I apologize if you took it that way. It's just that children are very important to me. And I do understand what you are saying. |

| Yo white orleander. I'm the 14 yr old that wants a cross with praying hands tattoo. How do you sit up here bashing me like you know me. Number 1 i ain't getting a tattoo to be a badass I'm getting it to be symbolic it's gona have meaning. I tried being nice and telling you why we want tattoos and then you start blasting me like you know y im getting my tattoo for. You just assumed you know everything. and ur only like what 18 telling me what to do. And to tattude THATS WHAT THEY CALL CHILD ABUSE A*SHOLE. as for whiteorleander you don't know me or what i been through so don't start bashing me like you know me. And for your maturity lectures zzzz oh let me tell you i ran the streets doing what i had to do to make money for a year and a half. I hurt a lot of my family, and not to mentio the stab wounds i have one in my leg on in my arm. MY tattoois going to reflect my newfound respect for religion the Lord, and my Father. I bet u i gained more maturity than you have. you also said kids need better role modles. newsflash when you run the streets and don't live in a good neighborhood you don't have too many good role modles |

well, i see the mature part of the evening has begun..... LOL NOT!!! Seriously, statefelon716..... i really don't think half the people in this forum want to hear your sob story about your life... this isn't Days Of Our Lives dammit!! If this forum was meant to turn into a big soap opera scene, wouldnt it be posted on NBC.com or something?? One thing you may realize is you may THINK your maturity level is higher than others... when in reality it isn't... Second of all, you came to this forum looking for advice and opinions and what not, but you have to understand if you want to be respected here, YOU HAVE TO RESPECT EVERYONE ELSE!!! You can't come in here saying "oh so-and-so is an A**hole for saying this" and "F**K You" to those that don't agree with you... If you want everyone else to respect you and give you serious and honest answers to your questions, you have to stop being so damn ignorant and actually PAY ATTENTION to what they are saying to you. Most of these people have a lot more life experience and you can learn a lot from what they have to tell you!! You have to stop being so stubborn and LISTEN to them!!! Then, and only MAYBE THEN, will you start gaining everyone's respect!! _________________ ~Life is too short to have any regrets... Long story short.... REBEL!!! REBEL I SAY!!!!~ |

| Well, statefelon716, I'm in my 50's so the advise I give is not that of a young adult or child. I too have been around the block and see where you coming from but that still doesn't change the fact that you are just a kid wanting a tattoo. You say you want it to represent your new found respect in the Lord and in your father, does that not include a new found respect for yourself as well? If the tattoo you discribe and the reason you want it are so strong it should still hold meaning for you in a few years. Then when you go to a reputable artist and have it inked on you it will have even more meaning because you had enough self respect to wait. We're not here to "bash" you we are only trying to help you to understand that waiting is a good thing. Ultimately the decision is not up to any of us it's up to you and your parents. We only tell you what we would do or say if it were our child or a child we had an influance over. Its all our own personal opinion and in some cases the law. What does your folks think about it, have you talked to them about it? As for your comment about discipline being child abuse... perhaps if you'd had a little more of it you wouldn't have been running the streets... read my others posts on this thread, maybe you'll understand where I'm coming from. |

State felon fine, i was trying to be nice and just give you advice in hopes that maybe you would learn something but i guess since your 14 and clearly think you know everything there is no point in me trying to cary on a mature conversation and a little debate with you, you want respect earn it, i was speaking in general, NOT JUST TO YOU. SO fine have to your way...
You want to talk about being mature? Why don’t go get an education and learn to talk right before you start talking about maturity little boy. I never acted like I knew you, first off, and you don’t want me to sit there and criticize you and act like I know you well then don’t sit there and tell about how fucking bad your life has been, you don’t know shit about me either. Just because I didn’t roam the streets and shit doesn’t mean you have had it worse than I have. I have been working AT ACTUAL jobs since I was 14 and going to school, and done it all by my self pretty much since my parents weren’t around. But I guess this is where my maturity comes in, something you obviously haven’t learned yet, but what else should I have expected from a child?? WE ALL HAVE BAD SHIT IN OUR LIVES GET OVER IT!!!! No one has the perfect life and every one has a hard time, but as you grow up you will learn to let these things go... I never started “blasting” you, if that’s even a word that can be used in that context. I never told you what to do, I am not your mother thank god. And leave Tattude alone, excessive beating is “child abuse” but you know what maybe if your parents would have whooped your ass a little you would be a better kid and wouldn’t have roamed the freaking streets. Exactly my maturity lectures…. CAN YOU NOT READ THE TOPIC IS SAYS 18 AND UP DUMB SHIT, WHTS YOUR AGE AGAIN? You act like your all into religion and shit whatever, read the damn bible, it talks about not defacing your body, what the hell do you think that makes a tattoo??? * and that’s not meant to offend any one and im not saying its wrong, cuz hello I have one… just a little fact for ya…* OMG you have stab wounds on your leg and arm?!?! Like any one gives a shit. New found respect for religion my ass… I think your religion would tell you to turn the other cheek… NEWS FLASH I grew up in a bad freaking town, just about as ghetto as you get, but do you see me over here dragging it on and on and on NO. So what, I’ve had gang shootings outside/inside my school every year, the guy next door to me was murdered and left in my lawn for drugs, my mom was a teacher and had a gun pulled on her in class, my best friend growing up down the street was raped by her step dad and left up stairs tied to a chair dead for her mother to find… but do you see me acting like my life is so hard and telling every one my sob story and making it seem like that makes me worthy of maturity NO, why? Because just because you go thru tough shit doesn’t mean the world owes you shit because ten years down the road no one is going to care about your life… You sound just like the freaking homeless mad standing on the corner wanting people to hand him money instead of going and getting a job. No one is going to hand you any thing you earn it. There are a lot of people that have became something today and came from nothing, so don’t act like you didn’t have the chance to have a role model. It was your choice to live your life that way, and no one else’s. So go back to school, get an education and come talk to me in 5 years, and maybe then I’ll accept your apology for your sheer ignorance. _________________ Half the world is composed of people who have something to say and can't; and the other half who have nothing to say and keep on saying it -Robert Frost-

Exactly... CHILD abuse. You are a CHILD. So get yourself a crucifix, hang it around your neck, and there's your love for the lord until you grow up. _________________ Fay... looking for her Kong. |

When I was younger if I did something wrong, i got a good frickin spanking!! And I am happy I did because it smartened me up!! And you know I think thats exactly what you need is a good shot of discipline... And maybe your mouth washed out with soap as well!!!
