This peircing location intruigues me... and I've been sticking gems onto my upper lip to see how i like it for a week or so now. I think I want it but I have a few questions about care and healing.
The internet of course has freaked me out a little, because I've read 2 cases of inner mouth skin growing over the back post and expensive surgery ensuing. Blech.
But I'm still really interested in hearing about it from other people who have it, how much it costs (i'm hoping not much over $50) and how easily or difficult the healing process was for them. |

I don't have the monroe done, and personally not a fan. However for price, I know in my area we have shops that will do any piercing for $10 including jewelry, some that'll do it for $20 and some that have specific prices. I just got my eyebrow done for $30. _________________ "We shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti." |

Heal a monroe just like you would any other oral piercing.
First and most importantly keep your hands off!
Non-Alcho mouth wash after you eat or smoke or anything like that. No more than like 20 times a day or so. Make sure that you get pierced with a long enough shaft and you shouldn't have to worry about the skin growing over the back of it. I would be surprised if it ran you more than 50 but anything is possible really. _________________ People hear what they see - Oddisee |

Okay I'm probably going to get this piercing in the next few weeks...
But one more question, about jewelry.
Has anyone seen monroe/madonna jewelry with a pearl on the end instead of a rhinestone or metal ball? I think that would be so elegant and pretty but I can't seem to find one anywhere.
Does it exist?? |

| i've heard some people say that it doesn't hurt but personally mine did. and i never read anything about the growing over thing haha. guess i should research a little more. anyways, it's a little annoying at first because you aren't used to that tiny piece of metal in your mouth and be careful with smiling and eating and all of that because the back of your post WILL get caught on your teeth, that doesn't feel so great. and make sure you keep it tightened. the ball on mine fell off after a week because it hurt too much to touch it and with getting caught on my teeth it had eventually unscrewed it. just make sure you keep it clean and tightened. |
