Hey all, here are some pics of a tattoo I got a couple days ago. The tat is art nouveau-inspired and reflects the pomegranate life cycle, from blossoms to seedling. It was designed to be a tribute tattoo for my mom since pomegranates have long represented motherhood and fertility, at least in Western cultures. Martin Del Camino at Ichiban Tattoo Studio in Lawrence, KS did the piece for me, and I am very pleased with how it turned out! I don't have the best digital camera, but here are some pics I took today:
What do you think? |

| I'm not feeling it at all. Looks very amateurish to me. The lines are all over tha place... The subject matter, in my opinion, is blah..... Thats just my take though... If you're happy with it, thats cool. |

I think it's really pretty, and I love Art Neauvou, but I would like to see better pictures of this piece. They're so grainy. Do you know anyone who is good at taking photos??
Tattoos, like most artwork, are very tricky to photograph.. |

I think going small is going to compromise a lot of the detail in years to come. I'm sure you were well aware of that risk when deciding on the design and placement. that's my only criticism, other than that I like it a lot. Nice job, and thanks for sharing _________________

| Thanks for the comments everyone! I've very happy with the piece and much less happy with my camera. I definitely thought about the amount of detail in the space, but as you can see, my skin sees nearly no sun and after the healing is done I will be applying copious amounts of sunblock any time I do wear a skirt or shorts. My hope is that this will greatly increase the integrity of the piece over time. |

... oh! And I was really happy with myself for getting through the 5 hour session it took to complete it!!!! It hurt quite a bit more than the one on my neck, but not terrible overall.

man a lot of those lines are going to blend together over the years. Artist should have considered making some changes to the linework... it wouldn't have changed the piece much but in my opinion would most likely greatly change the longevity of the piece.
again thats just my opinion...
other than that, it looks solid.. _________________ www.ProphBundy.com |

I think those lines are very impressive. That's a lot of straight lines beside each other. But I agree that its a lot of detail in your tattoo, that could blend over time. I like the subject matter, but I'm finding that yellow background colour is bland against your skin. The middle panel is my favorite. _________________ I for one welcome our robot overlords. |
