This will be my next tattoo. Another one of my brothers drawings, and the picture itself holds a bit of meaning to me, so having it tattooed on me I think would just be neat =o)
Here's where you guys & gals come in... I'm thinking of getting it up my side, from hip to about breast area. I know that area of the body doesn't age well on women, but I don't really see this tattoo flowing good elsewhere on my body. I would think of putting it on my back, but I already have the lower back tattoo and the neck tattoo's... Sooooo any suggestions you have of placement I'm open to! )

i think its a cool tattoo... and agree that it would look cool as a thigh or side piece.
However, i would have the artist redraw it and color it and go for a kind of new school pop kinda feel... bright and vibrant, kinda comicy |

| And stay away from the "artists" who have been doing your other peices. |

I agree, There is no way any of the artists you've received work from are going to be able to pull that off |

This one could really be a kick ass tattoo. Please find a good artist. Sometimes we know of great artists in your area, Where are you?
I will also say it would work good on the thigh or side. _________________

Its not my thing, but her arms look backwards, and so do her feet. her right looks like the left, and left looks like the right. maybe its just me. _________________

Personally, it's not my thing. I get that, because they're "his drawings" that they have meaning and all that jazz. Sadly, all the meaning in the world, for me, doesn't replace the lack of aesthetic value in any of the pieces you've posted.
I'd rather have a tattoo with less backstory that looked infinitely better than a scribble that I'd have to constantly explain (as to why it looks the way it does).
The IDEA with this one is not a bad one in the least. If you take the IDEA to a capable artist, you're going to get a nice tattoo. If you take this DESIGN into an artist, with a hard and fast "I want it as close to this as possible because it's brother's work and it's special" attitude, it's just not going to come out as a nice tattoo.
As far as the placement, it's reasonably symmetrical, so it would work between the shoulder blades. It's also shaped well for a back shoulder. With a bit of tweaking and the addition of some background elements, it could make a nice rib-piece as well. The IDEA isn't bad, and can easily work in any of those spots. _________________ "Sometimes a Tattoo is Just a Tattoo. Not everyone wants some giant piece of art. I noticed the same thing. Unless it's drawn that way intentionally for some reason, the hands and feet are backwards. If she's holding her hands to her face like that how can the thumbs be in the middle? |
