just depends. I'm only able to sit for 3 at a time but that's because all my appointments are on a Friday @ 5 pm. People sit for 6 hours a day....sometimes for 2 or 3 days straight.

I've done sessions ranging from an hour and a half to two full consecutive days. Depends on the size of the piece and the artist's schedule.

i ususally sit for 5 - 6 hours at a time, so far my throat was the only piece where i couldnt do that though the longest ended up being 5 and a half hours on there so really id say depends on the client and the artist.

It really depends on your artist, and how you're feeling the day of the tattoo too!

I've sat for 8 and a half hours before, but today there is no way I would've made it that far! Also depends on the location of the tattoo as well!

As mentioned elsewhere, I did a three day session and each day was between 5 & 7 hours. Honestly I would NEVER do that again, by the third day I was ready to quit after the second hour, but bit the bullet and somehow got through (because there simply was no choice, I had to fly home the next day)

Personally, I think 3-4 hours is a probably comfortable time per session, with a couple of weeks break in between each.

As an artist, I personally don't like working more than 3 hours. By that point, I start getting a little slappy and am generally ready for a break.

As a client, I can usually sit 2-3 hours before my back starts getting too stiff for it's own good

I agree with the 3-4 hour limit. My artist also recently said that's about all he likes to do at a time, also.
