lol@ images that symbolize America when someone asks about a symbol of freedom
Not that America isn't free or anything, but jeez, skip the childish propaganda.

Combined with a Karate Kid sleeve. In fact that would be a fucking awesome tat. Like all the famous 90s movies combined into a back piece.scape wrote:i'm sensing... full back piecedan_T_jones wrote:

What about an open road leading into the sunset?
I love this.EvilJay wrote:"symbol", "represents" ,"means".... Ugghhhh. Just get whatever visually appeals to you and SKIP telling everyone what your god damn tattoo means. I'm a 30 year old guy with 30+ hours of ink and NO-ONE asks me what ANY of my tattoos "mean", EVER. That shit only matters to the douche bag that has to tell every fuckin person they see what their tattoo "symbolizes". It "means" that you decided to have someone permanantly color on you. Thats it...ANYTHING can mean ANYTHING to YOU and mean NOTHING to someone else... A heart with an american flag wrapped around it can "symbolize" freedom as much as a skeleton breaking out of an hourglass as much as a unicorn flyiing over a rainbow. Seriously. What the fuck do you want to hear?
Do you think the whole "mandatory deep meaning" thing came about with the popularization of tattoos on an unprecedented scale? All those people who would never get a tattoo before feel like it's okay to get a tattoo if it has some deep meaning? Or that if they have some deep metaphysic behind it, it's no longer the street art of the lumpen proletariat - now it's Ahhhht!
My first tattoo was just a pseudo-badass skull because I was a wanna-be pseudo-badass 19 year old. Then my next ten tattoos all had "deep meanings." Now I just want a friggin' octopus because octopi are sweet for tats.
I think it was a cross between fuckin Kanji(everything "means" something but needs to be explained), Stuid shitty tattoo reality TV where everyone has a fuckin story, and social acceptance where mom and grandma are cool with douchebag frat boy billy getting a tattoo if it means they love god or the miss their sister. I have 4 skulls cause I like skulls. I have 9 roses cause I think they they look cool. I have a heart on my ass cause I thought it was funny..Angertank wrote:I love this.
