Cool!
I take it Freddie that you may be another fan of Benny Hill?
The pros and cons of legalizing the plant goes on and on. I too have seen many friends become abusers to the point Freddie describes, but I also know of quite a few who have not.
I no longer smoke, and it hasn't bothered me in the least. But then again, I've always been a believer in moderation instead of over immersion.
Funny thing though, before it became illegal it was not a problem plant at all. Many people took to it's use when alcohol became illegal. The world did not collapse, nor were their burn outs on every corner. Methinks the problem is with the people and not the plant. Making it illegal just set off the forbidden fruit syndrome. Want to make a human being want something? Tell them they can't have it.
The main problem was actually started in the southwest during the depression when they were looking for a way to demonize the cheap Mexican labor force that they had exploited for years.
That's when the trouble started. As a racist reaction to a group that smoked pot and provided a cheap source of labor when jobs were even more scarce than they are now.
*Info taken from the History Channel "Illegal Drugs and How They Got That Way", as well as other sources.* |

Field sobriety motor skills test. If I cant walk a line, read a page, verify that I am capable to drive, then I get locked up. I'm not a drunk driving supporter, I just think regadless of what you blow, whether or not you can walk or say you abc's is probably a better indicator.
I dont smoke much anymore, but I spent a decade really high everyday, and I did good for myself, but I handle well. You wouldnt know I'm high when I am. Some people arent good candidates. _________________

Paddy.... I'm yellow for baiting you?? You're too easy.. I made a simple reference about you and pot and being a dope.. And, you just can't take it..
I can bait you and make a 40 page thread about you being irish and stupid, and the potato famine, and get you to respond just the way I want you to.. But, this isnt my thread, and I'm ruining it... I'm using you as a wedge to derail it.. Because you are dense, and easily manipulated.
Sorry Dan, I won't use your thread as a sounding board for paddy's stupidity anymore..
Back to dope talk.... Literally, this time.. |

Dude, I went into work 10 years straight high, and excelled at my job. I reviewed in the top 10 percent at corporate level(80,000emp) 8 of 9 years.... Some people it is very apparent, some people you wouldnt know. Obvistoly for YOU, you can't hide it... _________________

it's true everyone thinks that, but there are people who handle shit much better. I know a chick who drinks like a fish and never acts any differently despite how drunk she gets, my mom smokes weed and has her whole life and she looks exactly the same to me all the time whether she just smoked or not. It's all about how high of a tolerance you have to whatever it is you're doing. Now granted, I'm sure there were times where these people got totally zooted AND it was mad obvious, but as far as taking just the right amount for them to feel buzzed and carry on about their day.. you really wouldn't have any idea unless you caught a wiff of them. _________________

Well marijuana I mostly smoked from 12-18, basicly an everyday thing. My parents never knew. I notice when people are high though, doesnt mean I call it out. Just because people never mentioned it doesnt mean they couldnt tell. Weed is overlooked at lot, even smelling like it people might not say anything. And I never said I couldnt hide it, I didnt care for one. You ever hear anyone say "everytime I was arrested I was under the influence" but I've never been arrested for being under the influence? Im not talking about weed there though....Cocaine is a hell of a drug. |

It's all good man. I don't own the thread, I just started it.
And I agree with you Evil Jay, there are some people who just can't handle it. This is the same case with or without marijuana. All drugs can seriously affect your health, the name of the game is moderation. |

| In Britain the Government are inter-breeding strains of cannabis to grow their own strain that has no T.H.C or 'high' (Tetro Hydro Canonibal,i think its called) but still contains whatever medicinal purities to eleviate the the symptoms of Parkinsons disease and other brain to body wasting dibilitating diseases. This comes in an inhailer the same as for an asthmatic. I know a man who has M.S and is unsteady on his feet and has like permant shakes in his arms until he puffs a joint,ok he has more dexterity in his limbs and even his speech is better but he drives while stoned which i dont agree with. Basically any substance that alters your 'normal' thought process unless its chemically already made in your body is illeagal and is so for a reason. I dont believe in the whole 'cannabis is'nt addictive' theory because having smoked it for a few years i know it is. It lowers both men and women fertility rates, can induce schizophrenia if taken over a long period of time which we....oops i meant i (joke)have also witnessed and you can overdose on it but it would be a mighty feast as you'de need to eat approximately the equivalent of your own body weight in the stuff so suicide is not an option ! |
