|
|
I really love the tattoo style david beckham has on his side (pic below). i'd love to get a chinese proverb written down my tricep, and i would like it in the same style that beckhams is in.
from what i read thats chinese cursive script? is there anything else special about it, in terms of a unique style? i'm not familiar with the language.
i also want to know where i can go to get the words written in the script to see how they look? is there a good reliable translation place or a website i can go to?
i've seen a lot of forms of the chinese script but the one on beckham's side is ideal for me
thanks!! |

ok, now that THAT'S out of my system.....
You're best bet would be to find someone that speaks/writes Chinese and have them do it for you. Online translators rarely work (and are generally in a very plain style).
We keep a college Chinese writing text book in our shop that's full of names, words, and sayings for these kinds of occasions. We also have a few friends in the foreign exchange program at the local college that help us out. Maybe you can look for help at a local university.
We actually used to have a friend that ran a Chinese food restaurant about a block from the shop that helped us on occasion, but his handwriting really wasn't the best, lol. _________________ "Sometimes a Tattoo is Just a Tattoo. Translations are always a crap shoot, too.
Beckham has a line in the original Hebrew from the Song of Solomon which says, "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine."
Unfortunately, he didn't know that Hebrew reflects gender a lot more than English does, and the verse has him proclaiming his love for a man, not a woman. |
