| I've been noticing that a lot of people (including myself) are starting to get designs of birds done. Anyone else notice this? Anyone getting birds done soon? |

Swallows will probably always be popular as far as birds go. I've seen a lot more owls lately. I'm partial to phoenix myself. _________________ I for one welcome our robot overlords. |

... whichever you like best?
I've seen tons of different birds tattooed, peacocks, sparrows, parrots, etc. _________________ "I suppose the clock itself will wear thin its time before I am ended at this altar of dying and dying again" |

One thing about birds is that, unlike mammals, they lack conventional facial expressions. This automatically gives them an enigmatic air. We can project all kinds of traits and characteristics onto them. Is the owl really wise? Is the eagle really proud?
That and the inherent beauty of flight draw us to the images of birds.
Because, really, they're really just basically dirty little lizards who can fly and sometimes have pretty feathers or kick ass looks. |

I'm cool with it, if you can use something that I say. And I've a bird tattoo to boot. |

Whatcha got?
It's really this: I always saw the classic skull growing up (and still do), so I was just wondering if the bird is becoming the new skull given the latter's iconic status among tattoo aficionados. Or, is the bird a new trend altogether? |

| Is it really a big new trend, or have you started noticing it more because you are interested in it? Since I got my owl I have started seeing owl tattoos all over the place when I can't really recall noticing them much before that. |

| when I got mine done at Mos Eisley's (Grand Rapids, MI), the artist said that they'd seen a lot of birds come in lately. that peaked my interest as to what people are getting done the most these days... |

| I have an eagle tattoo with primarily just it's head and shoulders. The eagle is in the foreground with a nature scene in the background, basically like the bird is standing guard over her territory. It's a little different than most eagle tattoos I've seen and definitely not a flash-type design. I've always loved nature and wild animals and especially love birds of prey and specifically eagles because they combine grace, beauty, power, dominance of the sky and amazing predatory abilities. I think eagles have always been a popular tattoo for various reasons and may be even more popular since 9/11 as a representation of freedom and America. |
