What do you mean when you refer to it as stiff? Not bashing your opinion, I just want to know what that means so as to further my ability to properly appreciate tattoos.

The flowers themselves are rendered perfectly and beautiful. It's the wind. The wind swirls look like fill instead of a cohesive movement to tie the flowers together. This would hold true in any design not just tattooing. The background is always at least as important the subject matter, if not more.

Is there anything that can be done in regards to the stiffness of the piece when the wind is shaded? If so what should I suggest to the artist? Thanks again for the help.

i think with the right shading it'll make the whole piece flow easier. if your using blue for the wind then you might not want to put it in the flowers too. just a thought

I like it! Maybe the reason mine looks too stiff is because I wanted something that was a little more traditional. I'm really curious to see how the level of depth changes after Sunday when the shading is completed.
