Done by a pretty well known artist in Las Vegas. Hooked me up for $400 in his "private studio". All the color was added 6 days ago, the black and shading were from a month prior. Looks pretty finished?

Sorry, but I don't like it. Does "private studio" stand for kitchen? The outline is splotchy, the shading is kind of lame. No dimension, originality, the head looks like a crude drawing. I don't know what to tell, it's not very good in my humble opinion.

I'm not really feeling it either. Pretty much what the guy above me said. Who was the "pretty well known artist in Las Vegas"?

I never said it was going to be put in a publication for crying out loud. It may not meet your excruciating standards for tattoo perfection but I still like it, a lot of people I know like it and I don't regret getting it. It's original in my opinion I haven't seen anyone else with a tat that looks anything like mine, as opposed to some lame copy out of a nature book or comic book.

If you like it...that is all that matters. I am guessing that this one is your first?? The more that you check out tattoos you will begin to see "better" works of art out there. Yours isn't the worse that I've seen and it isn't the best that I've seen. I am sure that my tattoos are only considered average as well...but I am happy with them.

Hey don't get your nose out of joint. You posted and now you get opinions. At the bottom you asked if it looks pretty finished? No it does NOT. The snake head id barely shaded in. In fact its the same colour as the body - so much that it took me a while to find the head. Also where's the fork in the tongue? I don't like that it just fades off - feels very unfinished there. It looks like an ok start. I'm not a fan of the style. And the dots in the skin look better up top than the lower portion of the piece.

It has no recognizable scales (unless you count those dots, in which case, looks like he hurried in the last part), I don't like the "not colored in to the edges" look, and no, the head isn't finished.

I'm also curious on this "private studio" location. Bedroom? Kitchen?

Also, theres nothing wrong with the traditional tattoo designs.

I also dont get why the snake is triangular, or kinda has a ridge along the top the length of the body..

reminds me of the way grime was doing snakes a few years ago, new skoolish. it does not look finished at all.

and i agree with what most of the other guys posted, half assed. shading is splotchy, the red on the belly scales looks uneven. but i guess when it comes down to it, if you're happy with it, thats all that matters.
