Yeah, it was my idea. I really liked that WWI fighter pilot tattoo on Grime's site, so I started there and tried to think of something cool I could do like that. I'm really into mysteries, crime and detective stories, so that's what I came up with.
It got a lot of attention at the show. Like you, a lot of people seemed to really dig the concept. Not to mention Grime's sickness, of course. Anyway, I think lots of people identify with Sherlock Holmes, its such a universal thing for some reason. Rubendall was watching for a while and asked Grime the same question and seemed surprise when Grime told him it was my idea. I think Grime had fun doing it too. Hope he did, anyway.
Here's the stuff I brought to Grime at a consultation a week ago. The idea for the carved pipe came from the 3rd Sherlock. Grime chose to use the naked chick pipe out of the bunch.
