Ok. I've heard/read all about waiting for the art to dry before swimming. My question is: Is is ok to swim in a salt water pool. It is my private pool and I have no worries about creepy things you might find in a public pool. I'm just trying to get a definitive answer.

Why risk it? Be patient at least until the peeling and/or scab is gone and you've got solid skin again.

I know that when I'm in water for a long time, my skin changes. Like how your fingertips look like prunes after a while.
So, when I have a new tattoo, I avoid doing things which change my skin like that.

Creepies can still live in a saltwater pool. Think of it this way, if you could buy a lotto ticket for your own death even though it's millions to one, would you buy it?
