I would love to have a tattoo based on Death Cab For Cutie's song Marching Bands of Manhattan. I really love this song and it means very much to me and my life.
So, I wonder if someone could help me. It would be really helpful if someone could draw a sketch for me, based on my description below. I know that I'm probably asking too much of you, but... well, I really need some help here!
So, the lyrics say:
"Sorrow drips into your heart through a pinhole
Just like a faucet that leaks and there is comfort in the sound
But while you debate half empty or half full
It slowly rises, your love is gonna drown"
I imagine something like a heart half-painted red, as if it was "half empty or half full".
And the red painting would be kind of undulate, as if it was coming from a leaking faucet.
I'm not sure about having some red drops falling into the heart, but maybe it's a good idea.
And maybe it would be nice to have a ribbon saying "Your love is gonna drown" - but again, I'm not sure about that.

| Rather than ask a non-participant to draw up something and then take it to a good artist (who will only then be half interested in doing the work), I'd suggest finding an excellent artist near where you are and then letting them get excited about coming up with a design. |

I'd shoot for an artist who is in to Death Cab aka horrible music.
I keed I keed. Death Cab is pretty good...for me to poop on.
I think it might be cool for the bottom of the heart to be all color, the "filled"section, and then the top be plain black and grey. That might just look incomplete to anyone who sees it, but if it has meaning to you, that's all that matters. |
