I got my very first tattoo yesterday.
For aftercare i was told to apply ointment 5-7 times a day, but after reading up on this , most information tells me not to over moisturise or it will scab badly and ruin my tatto :S
How much ointment should I be applying for a black outline?

I also forgot, I applied quite a bit of ointment before double checking, and iv noticed that when rubbing it off, some bits of black are coming off with it, is this a bad sign?

it supposed to be a real thin layer of ointment where you hardly notice. for the first 3 days. If you cake it on i hear it makes the tattoo seep more in.

You will hear many different healing instructions depending on who you talk to but ointment 5-7 times a day sounds extreme. 3-4 times should be plenty, and just a small amount! You could also dry heal it or use a lotion if you prefer. Post pics if you can.

That's normal and will occur for a few days. Don't pick at them or peel them though.

Couldn't see the photo at all unfortunately. As for the aftercare I use tattoogenie spray and balm 3 time a day and not more as well.

Honestly, assuming you trust your artist, ask him/her. Any advice you need, they will have 99% of the time.
