disclaimer: not being a smartass
i've used nothing but aquaphor on every tattoo i've ever gotten for 14 years and my shit has never looked like that. That looks like a bad reaction, needle too deep, something; but what the hell do i know. |

I went and saw the tattoo artist last night. He said it looks like it probably got too dry and scabbed up while I was sleeping and putting the Aquaphor just made the scabs soft and gooey.
But he also said that a lot of the color came out for some reason and he doesnt know why. neither do i. A LOT of the color came out when scabs fell off the tendrils... why would this happen? I didnt pick them off! He told me he noticed I had thin skin while he was tattooing me... but after it heals up he will go back and touch everything up. Is my skin rejecting the ink or something??
Heres what it looked like the day he finished...
SIGH... I MISS IT ALREADY.
Here is what it looks like today.

when I got the woodgrain on my clipper ship done it was like 2.5 hours of diggin in the same spot on my inner forearm with a shitload of yellows and browns.
it kinda starting to peel normally and i rubbed the the flakes off and totally ended up prematurely peeling strips of skin off. they got all nasty and looked like they were oozing and shit, my arm looked very similar to what this girl has got going on with her tattoo.
I as well went to the artist and he had the same info for me. Looks fine, just leave it alone.
it healed ok no problem. i don't even think any ink fell out, if it did, it's not noticable.
Also, going forward, you should at least have SOME black if you're gonna get tattoos on highly visible areas that are more prone to the elements. Even when you do get that touched up, I don't see it lasting very long as a vibrant tattoo. Your artist should've explained this to you.
here's my thread when i was freaking out about mine. maybe it'll help you: http://www.everytattoo.com/tattooforum/viewtopic.php?t=13957&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 _________________

I agree with Gloom. It just looks like it got over saturated with ointment after it dried out. I tell people apply ointment or lotion 2x a day and dab off the excess. If it gets shiny/glossy again, your body heat could be liquefying what's left on the surface. It's kind of like soaking it, which can pull out ink. Your body absorbs what it needs after a few minutes. Any extra is overdoing it. Give it time. It'll heal. May need minor touch ups. _________________ ~Stacey Sharp

| lot of it depends on how oily your skin is, too. I probably use a lotion on a new tattoo a total of 3-4 times, max. |

I don't understand the point in wrapping a tattoo in plastic wrap. I'm not talking immediately after.
I saw a guy at work, finishing a forearm and he had his entire forearm plastic wrapped for at least 4 days. It was looking pretty nasty and had that oozing plasma look. Is there a theory behind that? |

if you do a tattoo that is all ink, no free space, the artist might tell you to do a wet heal. in that case its gonna be wrapped up. _________________ Let us pray |
