Well I want to get my first tattoo to represent my family I want to get it of my heritage of the people that loved me and raised me. They have been with me all my life and I know of nothing more to start off with. Also since I am a new generation I want to get with A American flag and eagle next to it. So I am here in need of help of maybe some of you know some good Mayan photo or tattoos which I can reference on not copy just reference.
I wanted it to maybe be a tribal Mayan face that can go well into a American Flag and Eagle pic that consignee with each other.
The eagle and Flag I can probably do with the artist but I was hoping some of you maybe can show me a pic of a Mayan but not of human face maybe of a god characteristic face or type of pic not one with to much human features.

So this is your heritage and you don't have any reference material? You want strangers to find reference material for you? Not trying to be a dick but I don't understand questions like this. Your family heritage is so important to you that you want to get a tattoo but your too lazy to find ref material? You obviously have access to the internet so google Mayan Warrior.
Wouldn't your family have reference material? Or are you one of these people that are 1/16 something and wanting to run with it? |

Yea I think ill buy the book might be a good investment you know. Also the reason my family doesn't have Mayan stuff is because a lot of Mayan culture was destroyed for being seen as devil worship blah blah etc.Also your assumptions of me not doing reference work is misguided I have but most pics are of Mayan rocks and stones that have been worn down by time and nature. Most pics of Mayan people were destroyed when the Spaniards came over and burnt them some have survived but the reason I asked for reference and showed that pic, and should have been more detailed I suppose is I'd like it done the present day California Hispanic style tattoo.
which in the past the original Mayan pics were not done in that style obviously. Also I have looked up Mayan warrior and nothing of my liking was there why I asked seeing how this is a site of tattoo lovers I'd assume(now see my mistake) would have better knowledge or input on it if they have came across it before. |

| Amigo, you have to get out more. Where do you live? Go to any block in Mexico, island of Mexico, any block in South Texas, or California and you will see Mayan artwork, statues, masks, etc. I have several hanging on my wall and didn't have to search the world over for these "forgotten relics" like you are suggesting. Fuck I live in the dirty south and I can remember in highschool our HomeEc class project was to make a Mayan pillow! If you are looking for present day CA Cholo tattoos there are a million and one tattoo artists that do that style including Mayan designs. IMO Low Rider Tattoo is among the best if not the best. Look at Jose Lopez. He has done plenty of Mayan stuff. |

Well your right I don't get out much I man do I have to tell you my whole life story to understand the situation I'm in? Just put it like this I'm limited to a certain area and I have little money to do things which you posted above. Like I said earlier -_- I don't feel like posting all my info just to make you happier at my lack of getting material so you can understand it but if you'd like just pm cause it a long story. Also remember not everyone obviously has the same degree of tattoo knowledge so that's why I was mistaken about tribal and "cholo" style tattoo but jeesh calm down have more patience with me pleas this is something new and very exciting for me so I will make mistakes why I come to you guys for guidance to catch them. |

| To the rest of you thanks for the input but I think this guy just likes being a legit asshole without breaking the forum rules so he wont be banned me I dont care was nice talking to the rest for what little I did but im not gonna let some guy talk down to me anymore I let him have his fun now Im done with it Also the REAL people know whats up and how this shit is off so fuck it but dingleberry ya just some child immature tough guy that knows cant do shit or acts like a total ass cause daddy or mommy didnt love you enough and its not that your just a little attention whore so you can go on and be your little pussy ass that you are. |

There are no rules and nobody gets banned. Mellow out. People with little knowledge of tattooing(you) end up making allot less mistakes if they play along and listen to the great advice here, no matter how its delivered. Believe it or not, everybody here wants to see and will help you get the best tattoo possible. It's a rough crowd here, but good people. Chill out my man...
