| It seems as I lurk around here on my first day that you guys seem to think a good tattoo is photo realistic, extremely intricate, etc. But do you also think that good tattoos can come in many forms? because I am in love with my new tattoo, get lots of compliments, i think its beautiful and well done (looks better on my skin now that its healed for a few days) but, I am afraid to ask you guys your opinions just to be told that what I and a good amount of lay people thought was a great tattoo really wasnt. |

So reading/comprehension isn't one of your strong points

| I only browsed for like 30-45 minutes, saw a few threads where people seemed kind of condescending. If I can figure out how to post a picture I will, I dont have any new pictures, just the ones from the day it was done |

I think you misunderstand the intentions of people here. I, for example, REALLY dig abstract work that people have done.
That said, if a tattoo is really crappy, we all have a tendency to be pretty straightforward about that. And you'll find that VERY few of us blow our load over text tattoos. |

Don't be afraid. Search some past threads and see the beating I took when I first got here (and in hindsight I deserved most of it).
To over simplify, the people here are honest and straight forward with their opinions on tattoos. Remember that we all have certain tastes so there will be variations on types of tattoos. It's taken me time but I'm starting to see how linework, shading, etc differentiates a good from a bad tattoo. But as previously stated, text tattoos are generally not well liked. |

So how would one go about getting a "photo realism" piece of an object that has never existed?
and yes we're all condescending jerks. |

lol no, its not like that, at all. I mean, its an elephant, its based off of a painting, but doesnt look like a cartoon nor is it girly and pointless
The lighting sucks ass, I have brighter pictures that actually show the colors, but this is the closest to what the shading looks like on my skin, since the others' shading doesnt look quite right, since the pictures were taken like 5 mins after it was done, this is about an hour or so after

so this was taken as soon as he was finished, he tattooed over stretch marks and they swelled up. But it doesnt look like this on my skin, and the hand is at a weird angle in this one, but the previous picture showed the full hand.
Like I said, the shading is more similar to the first one
I should take a new picture but its kinda flaky |

| That tattoo sucks. It is not photo realistic nor is it extremely intricate. |
