I'd skip the white aside from some highlights. Do mostly black and grey. The white will fade quickly anyway.
I would think any decent artist would be able to pull that off but check portfolios first and go to a reputable shop. |

He said black and white meaning "black and gray"
Most tattoo novices call B & G black and white like a photograph |

ok, thanks for the tips. i definitely think the raised and stitched effect can be accomplished without the white and am not tied to the white, so not doing it would be fine, too.
i'm actually in southern california (south oc), but i would travel for it or wait and get it in sf later this year when i visit next if i had a great recommendation.
as far as what i should be looking for in a portfolio or keywords in an online search, would i be looking for someone who does simple, but detailed (does that even make sense?) work, or what?
sorry, but i just have no idea what to ask/look for. |

It's a simple tattoo, no need to travel for something like that.
OK, I just quickly Googled some shops local to you. For example, this guy looks decent. I'm not saying he is amazing, but it seems he could definitely pull that tat off no problem.

In defense of the OP, not everyone wants an artistic or intricate piece. Also, many of us start with something simple and then move on to bigger and better.
To the OP..... you will not find many if anyone here who digs that kind of tattoo. Most on this forum view tattoos as living art. So stuff like sport logos are frowned upon.
But if you really want the thing, go to a good artist so at least they can put an artistic spin on it and make it look better then your standard sports logo tattoo. I would also recommend not getting it in an overly obvious place such as a forearm. Hopefully in the future, you will start seeking out true artists and colecting some killer pieces. |

The term novice wasn't an insult dude. Just trying to help YOU out. Can you be more sensitive? |
