Are you just getting a small outline, or doing the entire leg?

Not sure what you consider small, but it will be the size of the birthmark that starts near my waist and extends above my knee cap...so decently big. Perhaps in the future I will add on so my whole leg is covered Wink

He's ok, but I'm honetly surprised by his waiting period. His portfolio doesn't seem that strong . . .

But you dont plan to ever fill it in? Why would you want a lifetime with an unfinished tattoo. You can tell if it grew based on extending past the original boundries of the tattoo. i like Shawn's work, his asian stuff has a newschool twist, looks like its what he is good at.

I choose shamans den being it seems to be the only reputable shop in my area. I know many people who return to shamans den for future body work. Going to the city for the tattoo isnt a bad idea...though that just seems hectic, taking a bus down and navigating to Brooklyn let alone finding a reputable clean shop. I'm also guessing I am going to have a difficult time walking after getting it tattooed.
Where amongst PA?...I live right near the border.

kalash- No, dont plan on filling it in. Call me funny, but I actually like the looks of outlines over a fully finished tat...dont get me wrong, I like colorful tats but I prefer simple black toned tats(not sure if that makes sense, dont know how to word it).

I'm moving to Denver, CO early this summer...anyone recommend artists out in that region? I am willing to hold-off on getting the tattoo a few months, just to research beckers nevus a bit more being when I went to the dermatologist, it was an assistant who I visited, who admitted she didnt know much about it, though just advised against it. I am nervous about doing something harmful to my leg, such as triggering skin cancer...oy

I also want to sketch my tattoo idea out physically, with a marker or something...does anyone know of a marker/paint that I can do this with, that would wash off easily and not be a toxic to my skin? Thanks!

If you wait until you move to Denver, check out Tribal Rites in Fort Collins. I haven't been tattooed there yet, but currently on a wait list for Curtis.(about 8-9 months). All the artist at the shop look pretty good too.
