I'll be getting it on my left shoulder blade. I'm still trying to connect the "turns out not where but who youre with that really matters" better. The thought of taking out "Don't burn the day.." crossed my mind but other than that, any one have any ideas?
The gradient of colors on the real tat will be from yellow to redish. I don't know how to do it on photoshop.

I mean the reason for me is cuz theyre my favorite band. I go to, at the bear minimum, 4 shows a year.
If I was good with photoshop, I'd do more stuff but I'm not =/ |

| don't get a band tattoo. I was going to get a Dead tattoo 25 years ago because I loved the Greatful Dead (and still do), but am so glad I did not get that tattoo. |

Because Dave is awesome!

This. All "art" does not translate to a tattoo. This is one of those instances. There is no way for anythig that resembles that album cover or whatever to end up being a good tattoo. You might be the king shit with your new tat at the next DMB concert, but everybody else will see a crappy tattoo.
And No Band Tattoos are like rule #1 in tattooing. I'd get a girls name before a band name.. _________________

I don't see how a band tattoo is a bad thing. I don't see the difference between a band tattoo or a movie tattoo, and there are world class tattoo artists that pretty much make a living off doing celebrity portraits from movies. Mike DeVries comes to mind. And I know I have seen about 50 versions of heath ledger as the joker. Yeah sure Batman was a good movie, but fuck I grew up listing to Dave. Dave Matthews Band's music means more to me that any movie I can think of they aren't even in my top 5 musicians. I would rather get a Dave Tattoo than any tattoo dedicated to a movie.
Yeah maybe band names or album art doesn't translate well into tattoos, but I bet with a little thought and creativity and tattoo dedicated to a band could turn out awesome.
For the record I wouldn't get a DMB tattoo and Mike DeVries would have to pay me 250 an hour to put a celebrity face on me. |

I'm mostly with you on this one, but I would have to LOVE a band for a good decade before I'd consider getting a tattoo related to them inked on me. There were so many artists/bands that I loved over the years that I don't even listen to at all now. Right now I'm really into Foxy Shazam and I've been to four of their shows in the last 2 years, but in 5 years I doubt I'll have any interest in them. |

Thanks for the help man..
The fact that this will be my first tattoo, I'm not sure what is good or not. Yeah I watch the shows but that doesn't mean shit. I came to the site looking for help. Statements like this do not help.
If you're gonna post something like that, explain why? We are in the noob section aren't we? |

Care to elaborate? I made it and I am by no means an artist or anything. All done in photoshop. And I'm not particularly the best in photoshop.
