i don't think band tattoos are out of the question but logos, lyrics etc are lame. my dad just finished a full sleeve INSPIRED by jimmy buffet. he didn't get anything jimmy buffet except a shark fin. the rest is pirates, coconuts, ships, islands, hula girls etc. it got across the message he wanted but is something no one else will have and it was executed artistically and good quality. give it time and figure out what you can do to make something your own instead of getting something that makes you look like a groupie. i mean this to be constructive. and yes his pirate is jack sparrow. he loves those movies. but i can't complain at list my retired army colonel dad is cool enough to be sleeved out

If you truly believe that tattoo is "sick as hell" then there may be no help for you. |

I'm sorry, but you do not know what a good tattoo is. Maybe pick up some tattoo mags and look at some portfolios before pulling the trigger on your tattoo. I am assuming that you are very young. |

| it only took him 15 years of talking about it and me getting 2 sleeves and my chest stomach done for hime to commit. i brought him to one of my buddies, the same guy that did my parrot and eddie portrait and he really did a bad ass job pulling this sleeve together from a bunch of random thoughts my dad had. plus covering up a shitty tribal armband and some old army tattoos. he's happy with it. were trying to talk him into coming to st louis for the convention to compete with it. i think he'd win at least top 3 sleeve. my goal in posting it was so the OP could see that a quality tattoo can be made out of any topic and it doesn't have to be something any one else has ever had. but i don't think he got the idea. just adding your own words around an already existing thing or adding a parachute doesn't change the fact its some one else's design just changed. not every tattoo has to be original. i have lots of designs 1000s of others have. but i collect them from different artists, they have no meaning, no purpose. its like collecting squished pennies. its just that, a collection, but the op doesn't seem to be a collector so this doesn't apply. I'm running out of room though so I'm transitioning into signatures from certain artists. I'm getting lyle tuttles signature in november and hopefully eddie will sign his portrait, but he says he doesn't see too well anymore and doesn't like tattooing so we will see. |

This looks like a stick on tattoo you'd get for a four year old. |

Right I understand all that and I guess that's where I'm different. I personally don't like that tattoo. And you all are gonna say I'm retarded.. Oh well. Some people get tattoos that have no meaning and that's fine. I think a tattoo should a meaning. No doubt what I posted isn't the greatest and is boring. I'll try and talk to my artist and try and come up with someone else. |

I would just hate for you to get a tattoo now that you think is gay looking 5 or 10 years from now. Start looking at different work from talented artists. You might not specifically want this type of work tattooed on you, but it will give you an idea what quality tattoo art looks like versus what you have posted. Again, just trying to help. Better to ask and research before getting it than after.
Some of my favorite tattoo artists:

| That wasn't the point of me posting it. I don't give a shit if you like it. I posted it to show you that you can make your own design out of anything and be way happier than using something already in existence. A realism jimmy buffet theme isn't everyone's thing I get it. But it's a well done well thought out tattoo that portrays its message and retains its meaning. |
