Hi all,

I know a few individuals here have been tattooed by Grime. I was just curious as to how long it took to actually get booked on the wait list? I've shared a few emails with the shop manager, who has always been prompt and awesome to work with, but curious as to what the experience has been for those who locked up a spot as I'm still working on it. Thanks!

I was told the wait list was about 3 years and you don't get a date booked until your next on the list but it would be possible to get in sooner if you paid a premium

my buddy got a piece from grime relatively quickly. we went to a convention that he was tattooing at, he put his name on the list, someone cancelled and less than a year later he got his piece. i think he just got lucky tho.

This is basically it, 'cuz I e-mailed with the shop manager (Jeremy?), too. Occasionally Grime with work on his off-day for time-and-a-half. When I agreed (about a month ago) he said the earliest available would be some time late summer. I was looking to get in with him fall/2013, so I told him I'd try again this time next year. I'd like to book a vacation to SF around getting 5-6 hours from Grime.

i have two pieces from grime and a third multi-session piece on the back-burner. i don't know what the normal wait is like but he's generally much more accommodating than you'd think. the trick is to somehow not fall into the "everyone bucket". for example: cancel list, out of country travelers, stopping by the shop/convention for a face to face talk, mutual friend, etc. also, once you have work from him and have more cool ideas to run by him, there's potential to get some priority. he'd rather start working on something soon that he's interested in instead of go dig to the bottom of a ridiculous list. might not sound that fair but that's how it goes. good luck.

Yep, if I was in his shoes I'd pick the interesting plums, too. I'd help if I lived in SF.

AF - I've seen and thoroughly enjoyed your Smith and Ensminger pieces, but what have you had done by Grime? Do you mind posting pictures?
