This summer, I am going to get a tattoo with my friends. I know exactly what I want and I am pretty sure where. I want it in the middle of my upper back, a bit above the shoulders. I am sure it will hurt, but I was wondering if anyone has had one there before, and if so, did it hurt like whoa?

i just got mine two days ago. it took about two hours. hurts in certain spots but after your artists gets into a groove, it goes pretty fast. depending on how big it is, certain spots in your shoulder area felt like he was pulling on nerves in back lol

Good job. You resurrected an old thread back from the dead! _________________ Lt. Dan: Have you found Jesus yet, Gump?

The only real answer is you wont know until you do it, everybody is different...I'm doing a full back, everyplace I was told it would hurt it didnt, places I didnt think about hurt like a bitch (obliques)...I fell alseep during some of my middle back work..there are diferent kinds of pain, middle back was like a rubbing, raw sensation, not bad though...obliques felt like he was using a dull knife instead of a gun. Bottom line is its going to hurt....how much depends entirely on your physical makeup and tolerance...or the way you percieve pain...
