What does the side/stomach feel like?

Stomach blows, side is not usually bad at all except when it goes onto the front ribs (ie chest) and as it gets near the armpit. Over the hipbone sucks though.
I'm going in for 8 hours of shading on the ribs and butt tonight. Looking forward to getting it done, not so much looking forward to the pain.

Sure, here's a pic. It's actually more on the ribs than it looks in this pic, my stomach is kinda sagging. A lot still left to be done obviously, more sessions needed. My artist only had 4 hours for shading, so that's all I got done.
As the guy above me was saying, taking breaks actually makes it hurt worse. The first couple of minutes are by far the worst, after that you tend to zone out more and kind of just get exhausted and drudge onward. The only thing taking breaks is good for is to get snacks and drinks, rest up a bit.
Don't be scared away though, I found that all the hype about how much it hurts helped me, even though it hurt like a total bitch it wasn't quite as bad as people had said. I think your average person can withstand it fine as long as they are pretty determined. For many reasons, I would not start a big tattoo on the stomach/side unless I was really determined to go through with it!

Stomach was by far my least favorite. I think the longest I did on the stomach was only about 2 1/2 hours at once. It sucks. I guess it can depend on the tattoo too. Mine is traditional, so it was lined with a freakin big liner.
My side wasn't too bad. I'm having my back done, so the back half on my sides are done. Cake walk compared to my stomach.
