I think it's super shitty of the artists. Especially when it's some tribal or text. Trading your standards and dignity for $$$. Should every scratcher that copies a custom piece get sued? Seems like worse copyright infringement or whatever the charge, than a tattoo wearer being on film.

I respect this Harris guys attitude, be proud that your art is making it into mainstream media, it can only help bring in future clientel.
As for the idiots bringing up lawsuits, that is just going to create ill will and negative publicity. I hate the sue first ask questions later mentality, it really pisses me off and eventually ruins things for the rest of us. I can see the tattoo release form of the future stripping the consumer of any liberties concerning showing off THEIR OWN bodies in all types of media, social media included!

I couldn't make it through the whole article, but I think the upshot is that the person with the tattoo has the right to control his own body, which trumps the tattoo artist's copyright.
