Evil or Very Mad

I am really mad and I wanted to share my frustration with people who would understand.

On some of my prior posts, I mentioned some idiots I know who have been tattooing one another with sewing needles, lighters and an ink pen. These same idiots have constructed a frighteningly gross machine, and they have been tattooing anyone who gets drunk or high enough to let them. These dipsh*ts are 19 and 22 years old. The people they are tattooing are underage, and they hide these gruesome marks on their body in places the parents wouldn't see.

I cannot reason with these teenagers! They think a free tattoo being done by a half-wit who chews on a dogchain is better than paying for a quality, sterile tattoo done in a quality, sterile environment. I know I shouldn't give a crap because it's their body, but I know where this is all going to end: either the parents will find out and tattooing will get the bad PR; or the teens will grow up and regret the tattoo (thereby blaming the artform itself rather than their own stupidity of letting a moron do the work).

I often read about polls taken of tattooed people on how many of them regret their ink... it's usually quoted at 50%. I wonder how many of these people let some druggie idiot tattoo them to save a buck? Does anyone cut corners with seeking out a doctor or a dentist? Who was the last person you knew who let a friend perform plastic surgery to save some money? Shocked

"Maybe I can let Monkey do my boob and nose job cause I've only got $34 on my paycheck, and he said he'd do it for $20 and I still wanna go to McDonald's later."

It all goes to a bad rap for the artform of tattoo. This is not an art that can be picked up over the summer because you couldn't find a fastfood job! It isn't just a "hobby" you do out of you bathroom or kitchen! Learning the art of tattooing should be every bit as demanding as attending medical school! I mean, hello... you're messing with MY BLOOD! Doctors go to school for eight years before they're allowed to touch another human being without supervision. One wrong move and you could kill me or someone else! If a tattooist doesn't know what s/he is doing, the least disasterous outcome would be a ugly regret. And I have see plenty of those on the arms of the aforementioned idiots. Rolling Eyes

*sigh* I know there was no reason for my rant, but no one outside of my favorite tattoo artist knows why this makes me so upset. I figured some of you could appreciate my frustration. Thanks for listening to my fuss-fest. Embarassed

There is a reason for your rant. You're obviously passionate about the art of tattooing. That has to be illegal, I'd just have their whole operation busted. I'm fixing to turn 20 in two weeks, I've never let my friends try out anything on me. Sure I've mad some dumb mistakes, but nothing such as this. That is horrible, I honestly cannot understand why they would let them give eachother tattoos in such a way and not even think about possible infections/diseases.

The law is a very ineffective and corrupt system. I wholeheartedly believe in a different form of justice. If tattooists would grow a set of balls, and stick together in their local areas, someone who is scratching could...oh, let's say, end up getting dumped in a hospital parking lot minus their fingers, or hands, and everyone could supply each other with alibies. If it's a large enough group, it may be financially feasable to collect a little fund to have the authorities look the other way...or do the axe-work, themselves. People think this may be a far-fetched idea, but it does work for other groups in organized crime, and it is done with the best intentions, so why not?

Because that's a bad idea. If you were to beat them up, you may as well beat up the retard that let the scratcher to that to him.

The retard that allowed the scratcher to do that to him already got beat up. He has a perminant scar, and possibly worse to deal with.
It's not a bad idea. It is historically shown to be a highly effective means of doing things, whereas the law is slow, ineffective, ineficient, and corrupt.

When the law is ineffective, we must disregard it, sometimes. You have NEVER done anything illegal??
Legal doesn't NECESSARILY = Right
Illegal doesn't NECESSARILY = Wrong
In fact, laws are never based on right and wrong...they are based on socioeconomics. And lawmakers often only concern themselves with how they can best pad their pocketbooks. Why shouldn't you?
There is a simple solution. Most tattooists waste their time tattooing their friends for free when things are slow. Instead, why not tattoo a bunch of local thugs, who like to do some ass-kicking? Get them oweing you favors. I am sure you can figure out the rest.

That is the first thing Badwolf has posted that I liked. If you have time to Tattoo friends for freethank about what you are doing, but if you take time to Tattoo a real friend for free that is what the world of Tattooing is to me.Friends Tattoo friends for free IF they are TRUE friends and not some know nothing table top tattooers. It is like this if you Badwolf walked in my shop and told me I want a Tattoo from you and I will Tattoo you.I would show you what I work with,if you looked lost or called something wrong you would be out the door.If you steped up and knew everything in my shop we would Tattoo each other. Not a thing PISS ME OFF more is someone who walks in and sayes "I want a tat."If you can't say Tattoo you don't need one.
