Hi...My name is heather, and 8 days ago i lost my Tattoo virginity. lol. I got a lower back tattoo..and i have a question. The tattoo artist said to keep it moisturized, dont scratch or pick at it, etc etc. well, 2 times, when i was applying the oinment or lotion, i could feel...like..CRUMBS on my skin. I knew it was bits of scab coming off..but i wasnt picking at it, they just rubbed off with the slightest touch. So i looked at the pieces that stuck to my finger, and i freaked out when i saw taht it was PURPLE scabs taht were coming off. Are the scabs supposed to be the color of the ink? Did i lose some color or something? Also, are the scabs supposed to just come off like that without picking? I just dont want it to look stupid or anything, and i dont know much about tats. thanks!

Lol... don't worry... you'll be okay. The scabs are always the color of the ink beneath. You're going to see a whole lot more of the same over the next few days. I have a large backpiece I've been working on, and you wouldn't believe how much red, orange and yellow I have shed all over my apartment. Just keep it clean, moisturized and pampered. Don't scratch, because then you might lose color. But then you already knew that. Good luck and God bless! |

Yup, you'll be fine.
Hard scrabs are not good but flanking of skin the color of the tat is fine and normal. Only last a few days. _________________
