It's probably similar to the "hardship fund" that the NTA offers which offers help to studio owners who suffer severe losses due to uncontrollable circumstances. A group of tattooists or an organization within the tattoo industry contributes funds to aid in different tattoo related ways. What seems to be your problem perhaps I can help? I work for the APT and if it is a legislature problem I may be able to help you. But if it is a personal legal dilema then it is your responsability. SORRY.

What's up Slinger? I don't have any problems, I read an article in one of the tattoo mags and one of the artists mentioned the legal defense fund and I was wondering what it is for. I am opening a studio soon and would like to know everything that I need to know.

The legal defense fund is an attempt to create funds to hire attornies are needed to defend the tattoo industry. For example, take the pigment scare in California right now. Not one supplyer alone can take on the burden of fighting the case alone, so they all pitch in to attack the allegations. The fund is made up of people being prepared for the future.
