hey i have a question...

today i got a tattoo on my back(my first). i came online to look for tattoo care instructions and i came across several sites that HIGHLY warned against direct shower water beating on the tattoo, but i couldn't find out what exactly happens to the tattoo if i were to let the shower beat on the tattoo.

The unfortunate thing is that i took a shower before i checked online. I let the warm water beat on my tattoo because it was soothing.

What should i be looking out for? loss of color?

I apologize if my question seems ignorant... but i just want my tattoo to turn out well.

thanks in advance for your replies...

You'll be fine...tattoo will too.
Yes, hard showers directly on a new tattoo isn't the best thing but one time won't be damaging. Just chill on the direct water for the next few days.

Don't go too hot and try not to stay in too long. You don't want the scab to get thick and mushy. And "patt" the tattoo dry, don't rub! Eventually you will see some flakes of color coming off, don't panic, it's only part of the healing process. Stick to your artists aftercare instructions and you should be alright.

Yup, but a hard scab is a NO NO...
Keep in moisturized and it will flake like a sunburn.
