back to topic....
I actually have the Greg the Bunny Full series run on DVD. I thought it was pretty amusing (though, admitedly, I initially thought that it was going to be a watered down remake of "Meet the Feebles". I was happily mistaken).
It's a shame that Fox cancels potentially GREAT shows left and right, while keeping things like The Simpsons on FAR past its prime.
I heard that greg and the crew are alive and well on the IFC channel, but i haven't caught any of the newer episodes. _________________ Just a small guy trying to get by... |

ok...
1) What is "Meet the Feebles" ?
- Well, Before Peter Jackson was a Hollywood A-list director making movies like the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the $150 million plus King Kong, He was a guy from New Zealand making cheesy comedic horror fliks (2 of which are considered classics in the genre (Bad Taste and Braindead (aka Dead Alive in the US). He also made a film at this time entitled "Meet the Feebles", which basically took the idea of the 70's Muppet Show and turned it on its head. What if they little guys WEREN'T puppets? What if they were REAL? And, to that effect, what if they had a lot of the same PROBLEMS that most stars deal with (sexually transmitted diseases, drug addiction, back stabbing managers, infidelity, ect ect ect). The movie is a great flik, and worth seeing for the Deer Hunter homage vietname flash back alone.
2) What's wrong with the Simpsons?
- The Simpsons, at one time, were the FUNNIEST, most BALLS OUT show on TV IMHO. Sadly, that was about 15 years ago. They made thgeir name doing things that were considereed shocking in the cartoon medium, and by being a social satire. Well, shows like South Park, Family Guy, and American Dad (though, admittedly, not a show I'm into), along with most of the Adult Swim block on CN, are doing what the simpsons did, but doing it BETTER and FASTER. case in point : The Passion of the Christ came out a few years back. It was a highly controversial film, and therefor was RIPE for satire. South Park hit it with 2 weeks. The Simpsons didn't hit it until over A YEAR later during a Superbowl episode. Yeah, i know, The Simpsons is a more sophisticated animation, and therefor takes longer to create. That's all fine and dandy. They were STILL very much passe' on the topic by that point.
3) What is the IFC channel?
- The independent Film Channel. They run a lot of "artsy" flicks that win a lot of awards at conventions and what-not. They also apprently have a few original TV shows (The Henry Rollins Show and GtB for example). Not really my cup of tea for the most part. _________________ Just a small guy trying to get by... |

Cool, thanks for the info. I still feel as if The Simpsons is my favorite cartoon, but I see what you mean about it losing it's edge. I just can't get into Family Guy or American Dad. They are both based on shock value and not real humer, so the shows only make me laugh once. The second and third time around they just aren't funny anymore. Simpsons may not be as edgy but they crack me up time and time again. Ok admittedly not all seasons, but a good portion of them.
Oh, and I'm not trying to argue, just stating my opinion. |

...LOVED Greg the Bunny. You're right about Fox cancelling good shows while keeping dead fish around longer than they should. Seth Green moved on to better things though. Robot Chicken FTMFW! _________________ \"Are you thinking what I'm thinking, Pinky?\"

I got a couple dvds from walmart. But they only had four or five episodes each. My sister ordered the season for me on amazon.com. |
