Need Technical info?

Technical information will NOT be supplied on these public forums. Do not ask for it, because no one here will give it to you.

Just bought a "kit" off of eBay? Having trouble figuring it out?

This is an easy one - THROW IT AWAY. You have no idea what you are doing, or else you would be apprenticing for a reputable mentor. Here is what will come of your attempts at tattooing with a "kit": You will scar people, and badly. You will likely infect them with Hepatitis C or HIV, leading to very unhappy customers, and hopefully a jail sentence for you. But they still get the shittier end of the bargain, because they get to die from your mistakes.

If you are SERIOUS about wanting to learn how to tattoo, throw your kit away immediately and do NOT use it - EVER! Put together a portfolio of your best work (ON PAPER) and seek out a reputable mentor. Look at the "Tattoo Apprenticeship" sticky in this forum.

If you are NOT serious about learning how to tattoo, and you just want to do it for yourself and your friends and whoever else wants to trade you a 6-pack for a tattoo, then THROW AWAY YOUR KIT, and you're more than welcome to fall off the edge of the earth.

You can NOT learn how to tattoo properly via trial and error on your own. "But Kohlhaas, so and so learned on THEIR own, and they're one of the best now!" You know what? I'd bet you anything that if you asked those artists if they would have done things differently, they'd tell you they'd have sought out an apprenticeship instead of learning on their own. It is the ONLY proper way to become a tattoo artist.
