I have lurked for a week so hopefully I will not go down in flames here.
You guys are a bit less tame than my usual forum
My husband is getting his first tattoo and these are questions about that.
The first question -
Is there any problem with tattoos on fair freckled skin? He said that he had heard that there could be problems. I have never heard this but I am not in the business and have only 2 tattoos under my belt (so to speak).
The second question -
The design he wants is pretty much this..
In my opinion the staff needs to be brown and the snake a bit lighter green but the "V" needs to be a totally different color to stand out. He wants the "V" to also be brown. If one was a lighter brown (the staff or the "V") does it matter which one? Will it stand out better if the "V" on top is lighter or darker or vice versa.
Thanks for the replies.

The only problem is that the freckles may show through lighter colors.
Other than that, no problem.
As for colors, it's all a matter of personal desire, but if it were me, I'd recommend the V being in a faux gold color to make the darker brown and green "pop".
It's all about CONTRAST, as I have said many times. |

I am freckled and have had no problems with any of my tattoos.
Badwolf is right about the lighter colors...my frekles show through.
p.s. I don't think you'll get flamed...you asked legitimate questions.

NO, it's actually better to have fair skin. The colors stay cleaner, brighter longer...

I would totally let the artist draw this up...He/she will change the colors, and rightfully so. _________________

Thanks for the replies and suggestions.
I would love for him to get this kind of thing for the snake and staff but I think it would have to end up considerably larger than he wants.
He is going to get the local tattoo place here to draw it up first. Since it's graduation coming up, they are probably getting tired of having to do this particular one. |

| I have very very pale skin and freckles and haven't had a problem with my tattoo. In fact, though the tattoo is still new, it is still significantly darker on me then anyone else I have talked to that has tattoos. I don't think he will have a problem unless he is getting very light colors. |

Thanks again.
I am not sure when he's going to get it done. I have a feeling that he might decide to not get one.
But I'll get my 3rd anyway. |
