I know I'm probably going to get the whole "tanning beds cause cancer" speech but assuming I already am aware of that fact, are they bad for tattoos? Especially if they are still healing?

Yes, didn't your artist give you an aftercare sheet? Tanning (especially burning) can really damage your tattoo. Just don't do it, you don't need a tan that bad.... Oh yeah, they cause cancer too!

All tanning will fade your tattoo. You should put sun block, Not sun screen, on your tattoos while out in the sun. I'm not sure if sun block helps in a tanning bed or not.

Edit:
You should use a self tanning lotion. It's alot healthier.

You should get tattooed from head to toe in a light brown ink. It will remove your need to get a tan AND fulfil your desire to a tattooed. Simple!

I've always thought that if I could get the white space between my freckles filled in I would have an "alloverbodytan"

You could join your freckles up like a star map. You will be really popular with local astronomers.
