|
| Im really thinking of getting a tattoo of something in french. Most of my family is french and i just think it would look nice. This will be my first tattoo, so i want to make sure it looks good. I either want it to say "joie de vivre" which means (joy of living) or "Je t'aime" which means (I love you). It will be in cursive writing and probably not to big. Where do you think i should put something like that?? I am clueless on where it would look good, and the tattoo place im going doesnt exactly have the most conversational people, so i need to know what i want when i go in there. Thanks to anyone that will offer some ideas! |

1. please please please read the stickies.
2. I have no idea where you should get your tattoo, it is your tattoo. If you want something like this, do some research. Google-fu word tattoos and see where they look good on other people. Think about how often you want this tattoo to be seen. And think about the place where you are planning to have this tattooed on you, if they aren't willing to sit down and talk with you to make sure it is exactly what you want, hightail your ass outta there and find another place. |

yeah what butterfly said, if you dont feel comfortable talking it out with them, or they wont talk to you, i would never get a tattoo there
and most important do you want it to be seen all the time, my suggestion is forearm, but thats just me, and it depends how big do u want it, you could do from shoulder to shoulder.. its all on you |

DO NOT SETTLE!!! Find the nearest awesome place that you feel comfy with and go there. The internet is a good resource for that. If you don't have a car, ask a buddy, take a bus, or call a cab. |

Never go somewhere you don't nearly instantly feel comfortable. Tattoo studios are a business and like every business, customer service is one of the top priorities.
You could try drawing the words on yourself with a ballpoint pen in various areas and walk around your house for a while taking a glance in the mirror here and there. You may find out on your own where you'd like it. Otherwise ask the tattooist whom you have done your research on, checked his profolio, and decide on. (But be kind narrow the decision down for him to 2-3 places!!)
To find such a tattooist ask around. Referrals are the best source, but also check around online, and go into studios and get a feel for the place. Because 9 out of 10 times, as long you still live in the area, if you like the person/place you'll keep going back and build a very strong trust base. |
