I'm looking to write about varying tattoo laws throughout the country. However, I've been unable to find any concrete websites that have laws for all 50 states. I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could locate the official laws of all 50 states.
Any help would be great...

I personally don't know of any one sight. Your best bet is to go to each states health dept websight. There you can view that states rules and regulations. It may be a bit more time consuming than you anticipated but all the info will be correct. _________________ lookatthesurfaceofsomethingandyoujustseethesurface, lookalittledeeperandyoufindmoretruth. |

you would have to go state by state many states also leave it up to the city or county aswell....i know colorado had state and city lic. as well as personal photo id's...........
when ya get your book done i would love to look it over.... _________________ leaving a permanate mark on the world one tattoo at a time.

i didnt catch the "book" part........is this what you are writing it for?
and if so........for who? and why?
like was said....it will vary from county to county in every state......you would have to spend years researching..........and by the time you are finished........im sure most of the statutes will have changed, as they often do............and you will have to start over, depending on why you are writing about it. |

I went to these websites and still gained no knowledge. What exactly do you ask for? What division or department governs this? I moved and I am not sure who to ask? I need no technical info just who or what to contact at my county health department. _________________ danna burke

| I just found out by calling my local police department on the legalities of tattooing minors. Here in Wisconsin as long as you have parental consent, you may tattoo below the 18 year old mark. I am tattooing my 14 year old with a paw print from her dog that passed away last year. I have several tattooes and i will allow this one for her because of the meaning and location of it.( On shoulder ) That's the best info i can tell you on that, each state is different and each town is different. Ask your local law enforcement and they will know... Next would be to ask a lawyer they have all the state stats and laws..... Hope this helped..... |

Don't rely on any sites, books, etc except for the official statutes. Most people rely on heresay and pass along what they think they know to others and facts get very lost along the way. |
